Black Cat Pottery
Black Cat Pottery was initially started in 1999 at the base of Black Cat Mountain in Poland Spring, Maine. Wayne Messer was encouraged by a fellow engineer to take a pottery class. Almost 30 years later Wayne is now retired and enjoying developing his own style. He has been exploring with texture and glazes that accentuate the designs of functional pottery. One will find Wayne working at his home studio space or at Portland Pottery where he is continuing to expand and develop his style in a studio space with other advanced potters.
